BigicloudTV Station Management Guide

This comprehensive guide explains how to upload videos, schedule your 24/7 channel, and go live using the BigicloudTV platform.

1. How to Upload Video Files

You can upload videos to your BigicloudTV station in two ways: via the Web Panel (best for small files) or via FTP (best for large files or bulk uploads).

Option A: Upload via Web Panel

  6. Wait for the progress bar to reach 100% before closing the window.

Option B: Upload via FTP (Recommended for Large Files)

For faster, more reliable uploads of large video files, we recommend using FTP. You will need a free tool called Cyberduck.

Step 1: Download Cyberduck
Click here to download Cyberduck for Windows or Mac.

Step 2: Get Your FTP Details

  1. Log in to your BigicloudTV Control Panel.
  2. Navigate to your Service Overview page.
  3. Look for the FTP Information section (usually on the right side or under "Quick Links").
  4. Note down your:
    • Host/Server IP
    • Port (Default is often 21)
    • Username
    • Password (Same as your panel password usually)

Step 3: Connect & Upload

  1. Open Cyberduck.
  2. Click Open Connection (top left).
  3. Select FTP (File Transfer Protocol) from the dropdown menu.
  4. Enter your Server, Port, Username, and Password.
  5. Click Connect.
  6. You will see your server folders. Open the media folder.
  7. Drag your video files from your computer into this folder.

2. How to Schedule Videos

BigicloudTV allows you to create a 24/7 broadcast loop or schedule specific shows at exact times.

Using the Main (Default) Playlist

The Standard Playlist (often called "General Rotation" or "TV Play") is what plays automatically when no other specific events are scheduled. This ensures your channel never goes offline.

  1. Go to TV Station > Playlists (or "Media Management").
  2. Locate the Standard / Default Playlist.
  3. Drag your uploaded videos from the left "Media Library" column into the "Playlist" column on the right.
  4. Re-order them by dragging them up or down.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Important: You may need to restart your service or click "Reload Playlist" for changes to take effect immediately.

Creating a New Scheduled Playlist

Use this to play a specific show or movie at a set time (e.g., "Sunday Service at 9 AM").

  1. Go to Scheduling or Calendar.
  2. Click New Playlist or Create Event.
  3. Name: Give it a title (e.g., "Friday Night Special").
  4. Time: Set the Start Time and Duration (or End Time).
  5. Repeat: Choose if this happens once, daily, or weekly.
  6. Add Content: Drag the specific videos you want for this slot into the playlist area.
  7. Save the event.
  8. At the scheduled time, BigicloudTV will automatically interrupt the Default Playlist to play this content, then switch back when finished.

3. How to Go Live (RTMP Streaming)

You can interrupt your recorded schedule to broadcast live from software like OBS, vMix, or Wirecast.

Step 1: Get Your Stream Key

  1. Log in to the BigicloudTV Control Panel.
  2. On your Service Overview, look for "Live Streaming Connection" or "Encoder Settings".
  3. Copy the following two items:
    • Server URL (RTMP URL): (e.g., rtmp://live.bigicloudtv.com/appname)
    • Stream Key: (e.g., mychannel?key=12345)

Step 2: Configure Your Encoder (e.g., OBS Studio)

  1. Open OBS Studio.
  2. Go to Settings > Stream.
  3. Service: Select "Custom".
  4. Server: Paste your BigicloudTV RTMP URL.
  5. Stream Key: Paste your Stream Key.
  6. Click Apply and OK.

Step 3: Start Streaming

  1. In OBS, click Start Streaming.
  2. BigicloudTV will automatically detect the live signal.
  3. Your channel will seamlessly switch from the scheduled playlist to your live feed.
  4. When you stop streaming in OBS, the channel will automatically return to the scheduled playlist.
